Adams Street Partners has joined Initiative Climat International (iCI), an investor-led platform focused on climate action among leading private equity organizations. Climate change presents significant risks and opportunities for a wide variety of industries. iCI aims to leverage tried-and-tested methodologies to enable the private equity industry to analyze and mitigate its carbon emissions, as well as better manage the exposure to climate-related financial risks.
“Signing up to iCI should help Adams Street, our investors, the other GPs with which we invest and portfolio companies to make greater strides toward mitigating our climate-related risks and navigating the low-carbon transition,” said Yohan Hill, Director of ESG and Responsible Investing at Adams Street. “Specifically, we believe that joining iCI should help to accelerate the development and adoption of tools and approaches necessary to improve climate-related transparency within our investment portfolio, in line with our publicly stated support for the recommendations of the Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosures.”
iCI is endorsed by the UN-sponsored Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI), of which Adams Street is also a signatory.
